the location
Bruno’s Hütte is an ongoing room project that serves as a residence and will soon become a venue for small interventions and presentations of works by international artists.
Located in Berlin’s ‘Waldsiedlung,’ designed by Bruno Taut (Werkbund, early 20th century), this suburban colony is situated in the southern part of the city. The district of Zehlendorf is well connected to the public transport system and is beautifully located in the green area of ‘Grunewald.’
This space functions both as a place to live and as a destination for collaborative projects between artists and/or architects. Residencies are available for a maximum duration of one month. Artists such as Sophie Schmidt have worked here, preparing and completing objects that became part of the international group exhibition ‘Matter in Transit’ at Kunstruimte 09 in the Netherlands. Art historian David Stroband is a frequent guest, and most recently, artist Jan van der Til spent some time here researching typical Berlin architecture.
